Fading Innocence & Strengthening Emotions!

The journey from childhood to adulthood experiences many minutes change, be it in age, intelligence level or... facial expressions and innocence. These changes aren't usually noticeable unless we divide the journey in different age-groups and compare each with a careful eye.
Babies are called angels of God, a message of peace and love. Glittering innocence of their eyes convey what thousand words cannot. Million dollar smile on their faces can melt the coldest of hearts. They know nothing about the rules of the world when they first open their eyes in their mother's lap, all they know then, is the proximity of their near-n-dear ones.

"Thank you God for this unspeakable gift,
Because it makes up for any rift.
The innocence and charm on its face makes
                             a family and brings solace."
                              [First Step Towards Learning]

Tiny shoulders of these tiny-tots now bear the burden of satchel. With curiosity in their heart they head towards school on their wobbly feet to learn the ABC of life, though unwillingly.Once out of their mother's lap, a whole new environment of school teaches them some unlearned rules of the world. The school going kid is no longer such a dependent child and to know many new things.

"Unwillingly to go to school to study,
the mother herself in a lot of worry
Though the burden of the bag increases,
                        the knowledge increases simultaneously."
[Ready To Take The World By Storm]

The gateway of adolsence awaits the children of this age.Their bubbly nature attracts attention of everyone around and enjoy it to the hilt. Their face reflects more naughtiness than innocence. Daydreaming and posing like adult is a characteristic that marks this age. This is an age when the child looks up to someone as a role model, be it his/her own parents or some celebrity. The kid also imitates every action of its ideal. Moreover, he/she gets to know the world better.

                      "The whiz kids-in-making
                      Find every new thing tempting,
                       The carefree phase relaxes them
                      And playful innocence gets polishing."
                        "Generation Next"
[No Prize For Guessing It's The Teenagers]

Heart rules the head, the youth now have a distinct personality, shaped according to their surroundings. This is the age where they start adding layers of pretension to their personality. Hollow expressions dominate original ones. Masked face and hollow laugh is the stark reality of this age. They kiss their innocence good bye and drastic change can be seen in their personality; though they are quite receptive to the worl and take interest in every aspect of practical life.

" Masking emotions with a perfect face
                          Else a plastic smile dominates,
Intelligence gets a boost in them,
Heart rules head but can't emancipate."
"WHEN EVEN A WOMAN TURNS INTO A MACHINE-MAN"

Head dominates heart. It is the time when they are more determined about their future and start organising their life in a more systematic way. They are more mechanical and eventually immerse themselves in this superficial worl. They start moulding themselves in this superficial world. They start moulding themselves in a better way so that they can face any unexpected challenge or hurdle awaiting them in their near future. Responsibility reflects on their faces and "to do something" become a mantra.

" Reality strikes and not illusion,
A will to do everything in proportion,
                       Tag of independence gets attached
With a clear mind without confusion."
                                  "AT THE ZENITH"

Machine man eventually transforms into a family man- Mr. Depednable. Air of responsibility envelopes the people at this stage and their priorities change. They work harder and try to reach the zenith of their career [According to a research made, it has been found out that the people in the age-group of 30-35 years, are more restless than they are even in their whole lives]. Their faces reflect aggressiveness and impatience to reach their goal and at the same time responsibility towards their families is evident in their actions.

" With loads of responsibilities on their back
                          precautions to save their sack.
Being on the zenith of their career,
They can't afford to just sit back."

Eating Etiquettes

Eating etiquette is one of the most important etiquettes in modern time. Often this goes unseen. Very few people, especially in India has the proper knowledge of various eating etiquettes. Proper eating etiquettes make your host happy and the dinner or lunch go smoothly.

Removing napkin, use of forks and other such things are very normal while hearing but are very important. Keeping in mind few basic things, we can enhance our eating etiquettes .

Some of the few basic etiquettes are as follows:

One should always remember to remove the napkin from its place setting, unfold it, and put it in their lap. Your napkin should rest on your lap till the end of the meal. If you want to ecuse yourself from the table, loosely fold the napkin and place it in the left or right of your plate. At the end of the meal, leave the napkin semi=folded at the left side of the place setting. You should not crumple it.

One should wait until everyone at the table are served before they begin to eat. Always eat to your left and drink to your right which means any food dish to the left is yours and any drink to the right is yours.

There are two ways of using fork & knife… American style &Continental or European Style.

American Style: One should hold knife in the right hand and fork in the left. After a few bite – sized pieces of food are cut, then knife should be placed on edge of the plate with blades facing in. And then eat food by switching fork to right hand. Always remember that a left hand, arm or elbow on the table is counted in bad manners.

European Style: Hold knife in right hand and fork in left hand. The only difference is there is no switching of utensils. You eat food with the fork in your left hand only. When you take a drink, you do not just put your knife down but both the utensils into resting position, crossing the fork over knife. Once used, your utensils must not touch the table again. Always rest forks, knives & spoons  on the side of your plate in the 4:20 position.

There are few basic things which everyone should remember while eating in a group:

You shouldn’t talk with food inside your mouth. This is very rude.

One should never blow on their food to cool it off, if it is too hot to eat. Wait until it cools.

You should always eat in small bites and slowly.

One should always eat a little of everything on their plate. Never forget to compliment food. And if you don’t like the food and fell unable to compliment, its better to keep silent. If the food served is not of your liking, it is polite to at least attempt to eat a small amount of it.

Loud eating noises such as slurping and burping are very impolite.

Always remember to turn off your cell phone or switch it to silent or vibrate mode before sitting down to eat.

Keeping these basic things in mind while going out for a lunch or dinner will leave you a good impression.

Are we really Independent????

We're celebrating 67th year of our Independence but are we really independent?

We're slaves of caste system, dowry system, corruption, poverty, to name few!!

Poverty in India is demystifying. Though its a strange fact that the richest person of this world belongs to India but still India is a poor country. People below poverty line are even struggling to fulfill their basic needs to survive. Poverty is discouraging development in India.

The other major enemy of growing India is caste system. People support those of their castes. They vote according to their castes because of which our country's political system is highly discouraging. People are being killed on the name of castes.

Dowry system is another major drawback behind the deteiorating status of women. Thousands of women are being killed every year on the name of dowry. I'm amazed at the fact that even educated people like doctors, engineers ask heavy amount of dowry. Our India would never be developed without women.

Corruption, the most rapidly growing disease of our country which will never let our country to be called as "Independent". It resides everywhere. And the common people are the worst sufferers.

Last but absolutely not the least is our political system. Our honorable leaders are the height of hypocracy. They do nothing for country but are busy with their plannings for the so called satta. For instance, few days back Pakistani army killed our army men brutally but our honorable PM has not come up with any strict statement.
In spite of these I still believe that we the Young India will come forward and make our country independent in real sense and will leave a prosperous country for our next generation where there will be peace, love & brotherhood.

Its time to think and act accordingly!!!

Menstruation & Problems Associated!!!

http://menstrupedia.com/blog/caring-for-your-adolescent-daughters/
My article for menstrupedia blog!!!

Adolescent years are always difficult for both parents and their children alike. All the several changes that take place during puberty are a matter of great concern for most parents and quite a shocking and surprising affair for all adolescents who undergo various emotional, psychological and physical changes during this period. During their children’s puberty, parents and mothers in particular, have an important role to play. Mothers have to deal with their daughter’s stress, irritability, anxiousness and many other issues.
There are a gamut of issues with regard to menstruation, from physiological causes/effects to cultural taboos and traditions, the role of social history and other related ethical concerns. I am addressing here, the problems a girl faces during her menstruation. Disorders related to menstruation are among the most common problems encountered in women’s’ health and include early, delayed and irregular
menstrual cycles, early menopause, painful menses and excessive menstrual bleeding. Their treatment presents a variety of complex challenges, especially since some of the treatments used can themselves result in further menstrual and hormonal complications. For a girl, getting her periods for the first time is a physical milestone and marks the beginning of her ‘becoming a woman’. They often tend to experience certain symptoms before their periods or during their periods. These are called ‘Premenstrual Symptoms’. Some of the common physical and emotional symptoms that many females display before their periods are as follows:
1.Acne
2. Bloating
3. Fatigue
4. Backaches
5. Sore breasts
6. Food cravings
7. Feeling under the weather
8. Irritability
9. Feeling tense or anxious
Although these symptoms are not harmful per se, they can cause certain problems if not taken care of for a long time. If a girl is getting depressed or irritated, then her family needs to be able to understand her. They need to talk to her about periods and its symptoms. They need to tell her that it is a monthly occurrence and make her understand that it is part of the process of turning into a beautiful woman from a small little girl.
Cramps and delayed menarche are other problems which are experienced during periods. Abdominal cramps are normal during the first few days but if it continues for more than three days, then you may need to consult a doctor. Delayed  enarche is not something to get very worried about. If your daughter is a ‘Late Bloomer,’ it does not necessarily mean that there is something wrong with her. It
depends a lot on genetics for instance. Girls often start menstruating at approximately the same age
their mothers or grandmothers did. If she does not get her periods till the age of fifteen, then it would be advisable to visit a doctor.
There are certain other problems related to menstruation which are as follows:
1. Amenorrhea (The absence of periods): It can be caused due to a genetic abnormality, a hormonal imbalance or a problem with the way the reproductive organs have developed. Other causes can be stress, significant weight gain or loss, thyroid conditions or ovarian cysts.
2. Menorrhagia (Extremely heavy, prolonged periods): It is normal for periods to be heavier on some days than on others but signs of Menorrhagia can include soaking through at least one sanitary napkin an hour for several hours in a row or periods that last for longer than seven days. It can be caused by polyps in the uterus, thyroid conditions, clotting disorders, inflammation or infection in the vagina or cervix.
3.Dysmenorrhea (Painful periods): Having cramps for a day or two each month is common, but if your daughter has symptoms severe enough to prevent her from going about her normal activities or has cramps that last for more than three days, then you need to check with your doctor.
To summarize, if your daughter displays the following symptoms, it is advisable to consult a doctor:
1. If she has not started her period by the time she is fifteen or if her periods have not become regular after three years of menstruating.
2. If she stops getting her periods or if it becomes irregular after it has been consistently regular prior to it.
3. If she has heavy or long periods for around seven or eight days or if she gets her periods very frequently – every fifteen days for instance.
4. If she has very painful periods. Having an abdominal cramp for the first one and half days is quite normal but if it continues for more than two days and keeps your daughter away from her day-to-day work, then it is reason enough to be concerned.
